They need to be used in collaboration with a personal lube to increase the quality of the seal between the pump and the body, and of course the ring is still essential for the maintenance of the enhanced penis once the vacuum is released.

Rings can be attached to the pump before use and slipped into place once the erection has been achieved although best advice is that the ring should not be left in place for more than thirty minutes, and certainly not if there is any feeling of numbness or pain at any time. It is potentially very dangerous to fall asleep with the ring in place incidentally.
